In this second Swapper Spotlight post we feature Fay Hallam, a second-hand and vintage fashion lover who has been swapping for 10 years and who is fascinated by the histories behind clothes.

Swapper Spotlight is a series of blog posts where we feature individual stories of how different clothes swappers got started, their experiences while swapping and other interesting tidbits that they share with us!

Are you wondering about what sort of clothes or accessories you can find in a swapping platform like Swancy? We have analysed our users' digital wardrobes in order to understand what items they upload on the app.

Not surprisingly, we found that there are all sorts of apparel on Swancy: from designer bags to party dresses from high street brands.

Appealing visual content is what makes fashion items so desirable. Quality images have the power to make people buy, online, clothes and accessories they have never seen in real life. That applies to online swapping too!

If you want to increase your chances to match and swap it's important to upload nice photos of your items.

Trading clothes you never wear for something new and fabulous? Yes, please!

Clothes swapping is on the rise—and it’s easy to see why. Who doesn’t love getting new clothes at basically no cost? It’s a concept that just makes sense. You incur no debt, refresh your wardrobe, and gain a good feeling, knowing that you’re not adding to the landfill where so many donated clothes end up (at a startling rate, too: 10.5M tons/year in the US /£140M worth/year in the UK).

Going green, saving money, unique finds—the reasons people get involved in clothes swapping vary widely, and each person’s story is unique. In our Swapper Spotlight series, we feature individual stories of how different clothes swappers got started, their experiences while swapping, tips for great swapping experiences, photos of some of their swap finds, and other interesting tidbits that they share with us!

We all go through changes as we grow up and so does Swancy. It’s been a year and a half since we launched the app - after spending another one developing it - so we thought it was time to get Swancy a more grown-up look.

In the last few months we have been working with Type Creative to develop a new brand identity for Swancy and we are happy with the new, more modern look we have created.
